Re: NABET/CNN

On behalf of Local 31, I want to provide you with this update on our continuing struggle with CNN, which is currently unfolding in the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. As you know, the briefing before the D.C.~ Circuit was completed back in June of this year. With the. briefing completed, the case is now with the Court.

The next step is for an oral argument before a panel of three Judges. The DC. Circuit has scheduled oral arguments through December. This means that the earliest that the oral argument in the CNN case could be heard is January 2017. As soon as our attorneys receive notice of when the oral argument is scheduled, we will provide that information to you.

After the oral argument, the case is submitted to the panel of three judges for a decision. It will probably take several months before the panel issues its decision.

Keep the faith. This has been a very long fight. We have made it this far, against enormous odds and CNN’s high priced lawyers. This case is the second longest unfair labor practice case in NLRB history, but there is a light at the end of the
tunnel.
